Abstract

The disorders in cognitive sphere are important manifestations of chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency. Hypothyroidism often leads to the development of hy-pothyroid cerebropathy, which declares itself by changing top mental functions. The author has carried out neuropsychological and neurovisual checkup of 120 patients with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency and they have appeared to have hypothy-roidism. The results of the research speak for the predominance of cognitive abnormality in experimental groups of patients as compared to control groups and this fact is explained by mixed character of cerebropathy (vascular and metabolic) of hypo-thyroid patients.
